Pumice Liners
Pumice flue liners are the ultimate chimney flue liner that can either be used to reline an existing chimney (if the chimney structure is suitable) or as a flue liner within a new build brick chimney instead of the older type of clay or concrete flue.
It is important to understand the correct chimney flue liner for its intended use (a 'chimney' is the brick structure that surrounds the ‘flue liner’). Pumice flue liners are jointed with a special fire resisting compound and the void around the flue liner is filled using a special insulating concrete mix. If the intended stove or appliance is known before the chimney is built then the relevant diameter liners should be used to suit that appliance (usually 150mm internal diameter for wood burning stoves). Pumice liners come with an array of components to help create the ultimate brick chimney for a wood burning stove. These components include 30 degree and 45 degree bends for forming chimney offsets, stainless steel starter connectors to enable the wood stove to be simply fitted using standard stove pipe, flue jointing compound and vermiculite to be mixed 6:1 with ordinary Portland cement to create a lightweight insulating concrete backfill.
