Bodj
Bodj is a fair trade programme exclusive to Charnwood stoves. The initiative sells hand-made terracotta tiles and a selection of fireside accessories manufactured by a number of small developing businesses in Cambodia, South East Asia. Ced Wells of Charnwood stoves currently works alongside and supports three projects each producing unique products using traditional techniques and from ecologically and locally sourced materials. The aim is to make a difference to these communities: to actively encourage and celebrate their cultural skills whilst ensuring fair wages and responsible trading practices.
Natural Materials
We take special care in the new and reclaimed products selected to create our fireplaces. A vital part of our design process includes using materials that give natural beauty, style and character that flourish with age.
We offer a wide selection of slate, marble, granite, limestone, tiles and locally-sourced timber that are useful in many projects.
Local Crafts
Our Craftsmen create a variety of taylor-made products that embrace design and functionality. Our log stores, mirrors ornaments and furniture are made from locally sourced raw materials.
Not all wood should be burnt, nor should all architecture need specific dimensions. We look to the timber our woodlands want to give and then create around its specifications.
