Boilers & Link Up
Central heating, once considered a luxury, is now an affordable basic necessity in most properties. However, by putting the heart back into your home with a roaring fire we can offer a complete 'carbon neutral' heating solution.
We have a selection of stoves and cookers with boilers that are capable of providing just hot water through to full central heating. Controlling the heat output of modern wood burning appliances is surprisingly easy and, once set, they may be left unattended for long periods. Consumers of wood are in the enviable position of being able to buy exactly how much fuel they want, when they want it without the penalty of a 'standing charge'.
Link Up
If running solely on wood seems a bit daunting, 'link-up' makes it possible to connect your wood burner to your existing central heating system.
- A wood burning stove fitted with a back-boiler can be linked to an existing or new heating system.
- The existing central heating boiler continues to service the system as and when required.
- The hot water and radiators can be supplied by either or both appliances depending on the heat input needed.
- Link-Up can be installed to link either the hot water only or the hot water and radiators.
- Can also be integrated with Solar Panels to maximise efficiency by providing 'free' hot water from the power of the sun.
The real advantage of Link-Up is its flexibility. Whilst you are enjoying the comfort of your wood stove, it can automatically take over all or part of the heating load to conserve your consumption of alternative fuels. When you are not using the fire, the central heating operates as normal.
Link-Up can be achieved in a number of different ways, the method chosen will depend on your existing system and the output of the appliances being linked. Whichever method of interlinking is chosen, it is very important to ensure the wood burning appliance has an unrestricted open vent and separate cold feed.
